A millipede is any ARTHROPOD of the class
Diplopoda. It has a segmented body, each
segment usually bearing two pairs of legs,
and the distinct head bears a pair of short
clubbed antennae. Most millipedes are no more
than 2½cm (1inch) long. A few in the tropics
are 30cm (12inches).
